Holiday Madness Part One

In order for me to get all this in I've decided to do several posts on the days leading up to and the day of Isabelle's birth. I thought I would have lots of time to do just one big post but boy (girl I should say??) was I wrong!! Ms. Isabelle gets pretty much all of our attention at all times! She has us wrapped!!! :) :) :)

Anywho! Lets rewind to December 23rd...

We started out our Monday just like any other day, headed to work, left work early for our routine OB check up, and had plans to head to Jacksonville to start our holiday festivities at my Moms! Isabelle (actually me) had other plans! My blood pressure was very high (180/110 I think??) when they checked it and decided that it would be best to send us over to the hospital because I also had protein in my urine, which is a sign (along with the high blood pressure) of preeclampsia .

My dork - trying to cheer me up :)

We headed over (after a mini panic attack) immediately  to the hospital and got checked in, little did we know the roller-coaster we were about to go through. They eventually admitted me and got us into a labor and delivery private room because they could not get my blood pressure under control and decided they needed to do a 24 hour urine analysis and blood work on me to confirm I had developed preeclampsia.

Our cozy home for the Holidays!

They let me know that the only cure for preeclampsia was delivery and that it would now just be a matter of time before they would have to take her. They were very vague on what they meant by "a matter of time" we were told it could be days or it could be weeks, just depended on how my body would do.

Whoa BELLY!

They also ordered for me to receive a set of steroid shots to mature Isabelle's lungs just in case she needed to come early! Those dang shots burn like fire FYI!  We tried to make the best of our first night but it was quite rough!!!

Adjusting Isabelle's monitor - She was a mover!

We were pretty disappointed because it looked like our holiday plans were changing, but looking back we are so so thankful how everything came about. We are so very lucky!
